Take it from me: the Governor General’s role in getting $18m from Morrison for a charity without a record, office or program and no competitive bid is set to be the most controversial vice regal indulgence since Kerr’s dismissal of Whitlam.

There's a very clear confusion going on here in the Australian media and with MPs - including Anthony Albanese.
There is an official delegate's office of the Crown in Australia called the Governor General.
There is also a man called David Hurley.
They are 2 separate entities.

You should probably just read more.
All of it is publicly available information if you care to look.
Even the tweet you're actually responding to above contains a comprehensive article outlining the issue.

So, David Hurley wanted a big fat wad of govt money for a pet project, and Morrison gave it to him. Morrison wanted to be secretly sworn in to multiple ministries and Hurley got that done for him. The whole thing stinks of corruption.

Middleton is asked about the “grant” by regulation to a shell outfit signed off by the GG. With $15 mil up front and $4 mil annually in perpetuity. She says it has an ED but no website, and is registered as a charity. That the reg creating the grant can be disallowed. #Insiders

It turns out that the 18 million is just the start of the rip off as they get 4 million in perpetuity. This is getting bigger every day the theft of tax payers money.

I'm thinking of getting a regular full page column in a major daily newspaper and a hosting gig on a major television network and my own Australia-wide syndicated radio program to tell everybody that I can't get any attention in the media anymore.

Huge legal challenge being heard this week re the biggest groundwater licence ever granted in the NT.
It will drawdown the aquifer by 50m,
kill up to 30% of groundwater dependent ecosystems and, like all water licences here, was given out for free.

What a pity Howard and Costello pissed away the mining boom and failed to invest in a future fund. We could be using that money to fund these productivity measures like universal childcare. #insiders

Hey young people, according to Peter Gleeson in the Murdoch press you are to blame for our economic problems. Wages are going backwards and there has been no real wage growth for a decade, but according to Peter, this is ALL YOUR FAULT because you are lazy & taking the piss

People were hounded to actual death over sums of money the former govt believed they owed; but the GG can just sign away $18 million and no one bats an eye.

How the fuck do we live in a country where the media will still avidly report on all kinds of rare deaths such as light plane crashes, family violence & drownings but are all ignoring HUNDREDS of COVID19 deaths per week as if they’re no more important than squashed fucking ants?

"Gerry Harvey’s empire has suffered a decline in annual profits"
Might hve something to do with Harvey Norman receiving $22m in Jobkeeper they didn't need & Gerry grumbling abt having to return $6.02m of it.
JB Hi-Fi - who chose NOT to receive Jobkeeper - posted record profits

The Albanese government will make mistakes because everyone does and you can’t please everyone. But on their worst day they will still be a zillion times better than the Morrison government.
