Something else I’ve been thinking about in the whole incel debacle: the treatment of sex as a resource, rather than as an activity that you do WITH people. This attitude allows for incels to act as though sex is a thing that they *should* be able to access.

Also, my initial thoughts on concepts of romance, courtly love, and incels are here:https://goingmedievalblog.wordpress.com/2018/04/26/on-incels-and-courtly-love/ …

Interesting thoughts. But don't you think sexual intimacy and pleasure are essential elements of a healthy, satisfying life? And if so, isn't it natural to feel deep grief (often expressed as rage in young men) when one faces a life without?
-
I find them to be for me, but that is not everyone. There are plenty of asexual people, or people who abstain from sex for reasons they find deeply fulfilling (often religious). Still, that doesn’t make sex not an activity, or something people are owed.
-
My life would feel unhealthy and unfulfilled without activities like travel, cycling, research, and (yes) basketball, but these aren’t things that I accuse others of withholding from me. If I can’t find a travel partner, which I prefer, I go alone.
-
I think that if we examined this and saw sex more as an activity it would allow us to value solo sex more highly, for example.
-
It's all I have, and it's incredibly valuable to my health and well-being.

Add to that a whole lot of education for children and teens on how to have healthy relationships...
-
Absolutely. This is something that we're struggling with as adults because we've been inculcated. I, personally, owe a lot to the work of
@megjohnjustin on sex and relationships, and I think good RSE is the only way to move forward on this because we need to start earlier.

This ties in with the idea (was it Gore Vidal who said it?) that we should stop using 'homosexual' and 'bisexual' to describe people, but use those terms solely as adjectives for sexual acts.

This is a tiny minority of men who are doing very nicely now because they've been given so much attention from the permanently horrified far-left. There are more than enough decent guys who think that Incels are arseholes.

This thread is so on point. I applaud and support the Dominant Women I know who are Professional or just excellent in their being for their constant work in restructuring these thoughts (and thus actions) in the social conscious. Reteaching people about sexuality is so valuable.
