Explain otherwise? Have you actually looked at both pieces critically?
One is a picture of a guy falling, and one is a guy being pushed to his death. If the card was called "Fatal Fall" then I'd call it a wash. Also, love "This is Sparta!" Reference of original. Also every one of my players has said they prefer set art over promo.

The art needn't show the exact moment of contact to represent a fatal push. The composition is much more dramatic and visually interesting in the promo. Sparta reference is lazy. Promo foils side by side with pack foils, no question, promo more pop. Coloring is gorgeous.
