Congratulations - you broke Legacy. Every new set has even more power creep than the last and Magic becomes fundamentally broken. "OH BUT DON'T FORGET ABOUT VINTAGES!" Because listening to bed beat stories in Modern isn't obnoxious enough. Now the masses have access to cards...

Wizards COULD break the only promise they've ever made, but they have no real incentive to do it until Magic is dying and they're fine with one last cash grab. We're not there yet.
From the magic chat rooms that I frequent in, some folks appreciate some low power formats like Standard over Modern. Some folks appreciate the game actually warming up by turn three, not ending on turn 3.
For those of us that enjoy doing busted stuff, yeah, I'll be buying up a ton of reserved list masters sets and build like 30 ultra vintage and legacy decks. But there is definitely a ton of new and casual people that feel that standard is fine and would not jump ship.
Oh so you mean what I have been saying for a while: they won’t reprint duals so legacy dies, standard does, vintage dies and we all play fucking modern? Yeah that’s exactly what has happened.
Pumping Modern was also a massive mistake
Isn't only supporting Standard a pretty high risk strategy based on Wizards recent track record for making good Standards that people want to play?
With Modern and Legacy being around, when Standard sucks I still play Magic. If Modern and Legacy didn't exist I'd probably play a different game all together when Standard is bad.
