The take "Wizards should force people to play Standard instead of formats they enjoy" is pretty myopic.
Wizards is ultimately a business and has to make a profit off Magic to continue producing it

Then they should do a better job producing products people want to buy and monetizing formats that people want to play.

I'm really glad that WotC doesn't take the stance that "players are wrong to want to play Legacy/Modern/EDH instead of Standard".
