I'm not against free stuff, just bothers me that many paper players seem place zero value on #MTGO players or their collections.

Could you imagine the uproar if Wizards was planning on making your paper cards worth literally zero dollars?
the biggest hurdle for digital magic moving forward is the intrinsic value based on antiquated paper redemption policies

MTGO was ahead of it's time when created, but tangible redemption is not a modern expectation for digital products anymore

I agree. The problem is Wizards is essentially stuck with the old model unless they are willing to buy people out in some way.
