Not to mention the impact it would have on rural communities. Can you imagine the premium they'd have to pay to make delivering their mail "profitable"? USPS simply cannot be privatized...
There's dozens of legitimate reasons the postal service shouldn't be privatized, but only one that the Republicans care about: it will increase government spending. Every other side effect they see as a feature, not a bug.
