A love story: My wife and I made the mistake of anthropomorphizing our cars. My wife's car was a 2000 Buick Century that we named Agnes, mine a 2006 Impala we named Gerald. We had these cars for years... made the occasional repairs, but they were reliable.
We were running out of our 30 day grace period on the insurance, and I didn't want to get into a situation where someone was test driving it and got into an accident, because liability is a weird thing. We sold her to a car lot for the "just take it" price... we felt awful.

It was like turning a dog over to the pound, we saw her sitting there defeated on the lot. Gerald immediately needed repairs, cobonded cars had their downsides. Months passed and I wondered what happened to Agnes.

Today I saw her in the wild. She was parked in the employee area of the bank I go to every week to drop off the deposits for work; she had a baby seat in the back. I feel a little better knowing Gerald gets to see her every week when I go to the bank.pic.twitter.com/UYHpmF7EOy

As I was driving back to work, I swear Gerald had just a little more pep in his acceleration.

All our cars going forward will have Codenames instead of people names. My wife's 2016 GMC Terrain is known as Carlord, he's the leader of the Cardians of the Galaxy.
