At a Legacy event years ago, this happened: Opp: Life from the Loam? Me: [wait 5 seconds] Resolves. Opp: [Goes to pick up 3 lands] Me: You didn't target anything. Judge sided with me, and I won the match. Still feel bad. What's the scummiest thing you've done in a MTG tourney?

Me: cast random spell Opp: activate top, rearrange top of library Opp: "counter with counterbalance" Me: "you didn't put the Counterbalance trigger on the stack"

Pretty sure this one doesn’t work since it sounds like the opponent didn’t actually move beyond the time the trigger would have resolved. Ie a trigger is assumed to be on the stack until the timing of its resolution is irrefutably missed.
