I presume since your post is 7 hours old, that was due to people taking a while to update their clients. I still have not once waited more than 10 seconds for a match unless my connection was wonky, in which case I'd have to reconnect mid-match repeatedly.

I've been playing historic since it was announced. Get my 4 daily wins in for my gold payout then jam it the rest of the day. It's always had excellent queue times. Honestly been disappointed in the actual event matches though. Feels like everyone's netdecking it.
