Aren’t those both problems? Isn’t the best selling set of all time Battle For Zendikar which isn’t known for its power level but its promos? There are ways to balance this without printing 20-30 Eternal staples per set.
Battle for Zendikar was an absolute dumpster fire for Standard and the singles market... not a better alternative. Modern Horizons necessitated printing staple-level cards. War of the Spark was an anomaly, not the norm. Also, change is good

I agree that change can be good, but my point is that BFZ and MHO are polar opposites that are both bad, yet both brought in change.

Change is change. Changing to a worse scenario doesn't get bonus points because it's new. Current cards are playing the game themselves. We dislike this, as it is generally bad for the game's playability. It is fantastic for the game's shareholders. These are not the same.

Like this is so wildly disingenuous its incredible. If you're getting a little bored of the house you live in, you dont set it on fire and go "well, at least it's something new".
