As a buyer/seller for multiple shops, Jeremy is probably the expert on this. My guess is that the bulk of his sales are old school, vintage and commander all expensive formats. Also competitive players are notorious for borrowing up to entire decks for tournaments 1/

Every shop is drastically different though. As is every player. I'm a competitive player, and I'd bet my yearly salary that I spend more at my shop than any of the casuals that go there.

In this case, Jeremy can speak on a much larger volume that you can. His expertise should be taken at face value when he speaks about the average competitive player vs average casual player in terms of financial contribution to a stores bottom line.
