Look, if Sol Ring is ruining your commander games try cutting your opponent's deck instead of saying "I trust you". I bet you'll have a lot less problems with "all them turn 1 Sol Rings" that are ruining < 8% of your games.

Is it? I assumed an 8 card starting hand out of a hundred card deck. Then figured a few aggressive mulligans, and then multiplied by the number of times you get a turn 1 sol ring and follow it up with absolutely nothing or something mundane Less than 8% seems pretty easy to me.

This is a turn one Sol Ring RUINING YOUR GAME, which is the bar for banning. A turn one Sol Ring followed by two turns of playing lands and doing g nothing else is not game ending for me. Your mileage may vary.

Maybe 8% per player but you're talking about the whole game/group of players

Ok, we'll also divide by the number of games that playing a turn 1 Sol Ring makes everyone hang up on you...

Yeah, but that kinda ruins the game too...

I guess just make sure your play group is only playing bad cards so nobody beats up on the leader then

I'm not sure your leap from "ban the 2 most ubiquitous and busted of 18k+ unique cards" to "only play bad cards" is valid. People beating up the leader is fine. That leader being determined randomly on t1 is not.

Ubiquitous? Sure. Most busted? Nope. You do you. If Sol Ring is ruining your commander experience, make house rules banning it for your play group.
