Finally got around to reading the #MTGArena State of the Beta... @wizards_magic really dropped the ball on this.
Problems:
1. No Brawl announcement
2. No real solution for collections rotating
3. Lacking real support for Historic
4. Historic 2x Wildcard cost
5. No friends list
1. Brawl decks are being released in paper, some of these cards will impact Standard deck building. THEY NEED TO BE AVAILABLE IN BOTH PLACES. We've begged for "something like commander" since Arena's inception. We'd settle for Brawl at this point. Arena has to = paper Magic
2. "What happens to our collection at rotation"
Without full support for Historic, it becomes another victim of Thanos... except the dust can't be used to craft cards like @PlayHearthstone.
We were promised a use for old cards and an unsupported format ain't it.
3. Not even launching a competitive queue for Historic until November shows they're not going to give historic the support it's going to need. Wizards still doesn't understand that providing a play environment people want to use will result in dollars, not the other way around.
4. Historic costing twice as many Wildcards is ridiculous to say the least. Wizards is afraid of losing Standard/ draft sales... where do they think we're going to be getting these Wildcards? Hint: we're going to buy more Standard packs because we still need cards for that.
5. Friends list / in game chat has gotta be the #1 most asked for feature. Creating a sense of community is critical to making people come back to the engage with the platform again and again. I'm not talking chat with opponents here either... nobody wants that.
