Not interested in getting into this, fact that someone checked 3 different booths on such a cheap card is my concern more than anything else. When people talk without any experience in the industry it's rarely worth engaging, he wants to demonize vendors, cool.

This take is crazy to me. Totally unreasonable to expect everyone to know the value of every card, and his experience explains exactly why he went to three booths. Vendors make this behavior correct. He spent maybe 10 min to make $8. Why is that your concern?

Not my concern at all, my concern is demonizing vendors for the prices they offer because you want to believe they are "getting you" without any actual information on how the back end of the market works. I know no major vendor will likely chime in here unfortunately so I am.

I have no issue with them checking as a player, I do have some issue as a vendor as it's a time sink. But yes my internet words were incorrect here. I would love to discuss this subject in person at a GP at any point where tone, inflection and meaning can be conveyed.
