Here's the thing kids. Commander decks are 100 card intro decks... not a vehicle for reprints. They're not designed for you. They're designed for players that want to get into Commander but don't know how to build a deck, and they excel at that.https://twitter.com/SaffronOlive/status/1158694014649958400 …

Every year we get a queue of players that are "waiting to give Commander a shot" and end up literally waiting for these decks to come out to try the format. Every. Damn. Year. These decks will sell as well as they ever have, so arguments about "value" are nearly baseless.

Everyone just got spoiled when they could crack the precon and sell three cards to cover it's cost and keep the rest. THAT AINT HAPPENING ANYMORE KIDS. There are too many "vendors" tanking singles by racing to the bottom on these low margin quick-flips.

The biggest challenge for Commander decks is maintaining a roughly equal level of interest across the line so we don't end up with another "Jeleva incident" where Wizards couldn't really do reprints because 60% of the decks were still sitting on shelves.

Also: most of these decks sold aren't showing up at "Commander night" at your LGS, the bulk of them are getting played at Kitchen tables against other Commander precons with very few changes. You'd be amazed at how many 90%+ intact commander decks show up in collections we buy.
