I've seen a lot of complaints about the value of Commander 2019 already. I think a lot of people are forgetting just how lacking in value last years decks really were. From my perspective, the Sultai deck is a big step forward value-wise compared to last year.

Hoping for $40 staples in a $40 deck isn't realistic. Getting a bunch of playable $3 lands, a couple of good colorless cards (Thran Dynamo, Sol Ring) and hopefully a couple of $8-$10 cards is about as good as you can hope for in a cheap precon deck.

Its a hard pill to swallow two years out from teferi’s protection. And that’s the complaint, this is still a worst product than 2017 commander. The point of the commander product is to reprint commander staples. Wizards shouls not care what the single price for a card is.

The "point of a commander product" is to provide a low cost entry point into the format, not to provide reprints.

Lol anyone who buys commander products to then go to a commander night is in for one rough night. How is a product that isnt’t even competitive with casual decks an “entry point” this is what people are complaining about.

Yet I literally see it year after year in my shop. Not all Commander nights are nuke fights.

Just like Planeswalker decks aren't competitive Standard decks... yet that's still how how a huge portion of people enter the game.
