Everyone keeps saying to ban Hogaak. Banning Hogaak will make Izzet Phoenix too good, if you ban Faithless Looting you make Tron too good, it’s a very delicate balance, and it might be better to just let the format fix itself and to just let it all play out. #bangravecrawler

it's understandable that they don't like to ban cards they just printed. don't mind the MC being a test dummy either. but i think the format is just slowly creeping towards being too similar to legacy and just too powerful.
I think Modern being Legacy with shocklands is basically the best possible outcome

Realistically they should've just unbanned everything, added Wasteland, Port, & Force of Will and called it a day. Let Modern become Legacy and introduce the extended equivalent on Arena
