Mick Mulvaney told NBC this morning that the request to move the USS McCain was “not an unreasonable thing.” He downplayed it as a young advance staffer seeing the ship & saying "we all know how the president feels about the former senator, maybe that's not the best backdrop."

Throwing a staffer under the bus. Honestly that’s not much of an excuse. I’m sure a “young staffer” doesn’t have the authority. If true, super poor training & no oversight.

Last I checked, "young staffers" have no authority to issue military orders... but hey, we're upending the whole government so who knows
