While I like the idea of "give Mythic Edition to local game stores" in theory, if the supply was similarly limited I'd expect many LGS's to sell their boxes for way more than $250, especially for strong Mythic Editions like this one.

The experience with FTVs was incredibly uneven for players. It was not a particularly great system either, aside from helping LGSs be profitable (which is good).

The profitability of From the Vaults is overstated, if we sold our entire allocation of From the Vault sets at triple retail, that would still be less than a single day of sales. It was generally an item that created bad feelings at the store level rather a magical $$$ windfall

Yeah Advance stores got what, 20 copies? And people often forget stores aren't just given them, they have to buy them from their distributor just like everything else.
