For example: we're ten minutes from one of the largest Magic stores in the state. If they run Magic events five nights a week, their promo allocations are going to be a lot higher. "Well they'll have to use them at additional events so it averages out." Negative.

The promo distribution is 100% up to stores now. So what if they decide to pile those promos only onto nights we're both running events? FNMs for example... that distorts the playing field because they can juice the prize support with no additional out of pocket expense.

We could choose to run additional events to up our promo counts... but then we neglect other games and start fighting over other nights of the week. The current system allowed you to hit benchmarks and compete on a level playing field (if you hit the same store level).

The new system is basically the prerelease allocation system on steroids... You're incentivized to just churn events to get the most free stuff so you can make money on said free stuff.
