This is a very good point and one I want to throw at the asshats who have constantly told me "things will be ok, calm down" or other such dismissive, arrogant responses
Hot take regarding GPs: Wizards has long said that the bulk of players never attend competitive events. Why would they continue to invest money in archaic marketing that doesn't even target it's core demographic?

I suppose I'm fine with that perspective, but then why not stress the casual part of the events? I would never again play in a constructed tournament at that level, but I still go for the side events (and would draft/sealed still for sure)

Wizard's says that most players never play in a sanctioned event period, not just competitive REL. They also say most players never enter a game store.
