Is anyone aware of any good article or thread or legal decision about the legality of “send us a picture and $ and we will make you a platmat” companies? Looking into issues of copyright, trademark, and fair use.
It's usually done on a "don't ask don't tell" assumption that you have the rights to use whatever image your ate are sending them. They're not going to validate whether you have a release 99% of the time, but it's probably copyright infringement.
