Prediction for 2019: Masters sets will be replaced by direct to Modern sets that will feature reprints and new cards that will not be Standard legal.

I actually spent a decent amount of time wondering about this after Conspiracy 2 and Battlebond, if Wizards will ever print new direct-to-Modern cards. Or reprints from early MTG to be legal in Modern but still outside Standard. Love the idea personally.

Masters sets are such a pain in the ass to make. You have to include complete cycles, balance it for Limited and take a million things into consideration. It's a lot of hassle. No wonder they don't want to do them much anymore.
