If Breaking Bad had had the same pacing and plot progression as Better Call Saul then the season 4 premiere would be Walt being told he has lung cancer.

Same here. I loved Breaking Bad, but even though it had a lot of characters that felt real, the plot was thriller oriented. BCS almost feels too real and developes the characters so well.
Breaking Bad was sooooo much worse upon second watch, it was all cliff hangers and "how do we get out of this mess?"
