I don't see why grass is anymore reasonable, other than pure aesthetics
My dog will walk in grass, my grandmother has stable footing on grass, i can lay in grass, i can walk in grass barefoot, grass provides oxygen. I can dig up a lawn easily if i need to get to buried utilities

I mean, I'll hear that argument if you also don't ever water your lawn and don't apply insecticide or fertilizer treatments to it. Otherwise I don't think anything of those minor inconveniences justify the environmental toll

I don't ever water my lawn and I apply a weed prevention treatment twice a year in an area with no run-off.
