Wow. Every time someone asked me for an autograph, I felt like *I* should be paying *them.* It’s an incredible honor to be asked for an autograph, and it turns my stomach to think of someone trying to charge for it.

Personally, I’ve never paid artists to sign, only to sketch.

Same, but last couple of years has had artists charging to keep savages from asking them to sign 40+ cards

Ah! There’s the rub. If someone is asking for 40+ signatures, I can understand charging.

i think that it's more along the lines of artists paying to be at a place to sell their wares VS artists being paid to be at a place to promote the game... one could argue pro players fit all over that spectrum in varying degrees but I don't see a strong distinction between the 2
