Wow. Every time someone asked me for an autograph, I felt like *I* should be paying *them.* It’s an incredible honor to be asked for an autograph, and it turns my stomach to think of someone trying to charge for it. 
I think of you split the hairs you'll see there's very little difference between this and paying artists to sign something

Personally, I’ve never paid artists to sign, only to sketch.

Same, but last couple of years has had artists charging to keep savages from asking them to sign 40+ cards
