The writing for this season has been shit. It’s been so so rushed (this is partly HBO’s fault), and logic has just been replaced by shock value on multiple occasions. The fact that the creators said that Dany forgot about Euron and the Iron Fleet before Rhaegal’s death sums it up

For the entirety of the season, one of Dany’s main points has been to protect the innocent. She stopped the Dothraki from raping and pillaging, she freed thousands of slaves. And yet now when she’s won the battle, she decides to burn millions of innocents. It makes no sense

Lmao what? The foreshadowing was shit and rushed. She’s always protected civilians and burned her enemies. There was no foreshadowing towards her killing civilians barring the last 2 episodes.
