But why only you have these rates ? I have asked other companies and the rates are not that high ?
-
It's a wholesale retailer which means they charge whatever the market price is. They have no control over the price. Usually it's 3 cents cheaper than the cheapest fixed rate but in this case the market price surged(300x) when the grid started failing and demand was off the chart

I’m pissed because you all are unresponsive. Took almost 48 hours for someone to respond to my move out request. I called, sent emails, and waited hours for online chats. During that time you all charged me $1200 for electricity in an empty house

I want you to show a table of prices of all the companies at this time to see if you really have a basis to defend what you say!
-
Other companies sell based on contracted rates with their customers and hedge to (hopefully) avoid being upside down. Griddy just passes on the current market spot price. So no there won't be a table with other companies to compare, because the products are totally different.

So will we get better pricing?
@KHOUThanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

Until some guidelines are implemented that override the Ercot pricing algorithms it seems the Griddy model is too risky. I was lucky to get out on the 14th. Luck is for Vegas not for a necessity.
