I figured after the disaster in August 2019, nobody would be stupid enough to use them. In short: Residential customers should not be able to purchase at wholesale pricing.

Let me ask you, since I see your bio indicates you've forgotten more about energy than I'll ever know, If everyone were billed like Griddy bills, would the wholesale price be lower right now?

In short: Pricing is up because (expected) usage is exceeding production. Line congestion, wind generation freezing in West Texas, solar unable to produce. A perfect storm for electricity generation.

I grew up in SoCal during the Enron mess; so that's the only electric crunch like this I've seen before. Are we in for brownouts and/or rolling blackouts? Or are things not that dire/our failure mode looks different/other?
