And about TDU delivery charges, you'll have to pay those at any provider you go to.

Not complaining (to you) about TDSP charges ... unfortunately, I can’t control those. It is the merchant services fee and “membership” fee. Those fees were almost 1.3 c/kWh or around 14% or my bill for around 1000 kWh usage in Jan.

Completely understand your frustration, but that is how our business model works. And with those fees we come in 20-30% less than fixed price plans over the course of a year. But, we know Griddy isn't for everyone. If you find somewhere else you are happier, high five 🙏 !

Are the TDU delivery charges marked up by Griddy?

No. They are pass through/no mark up. My issue was that that the $10 monthly fee was too high and that they didn’t give any options to pay except credit card where they pass through the processing fees. They glossed over that and pointed out TDSP fees which I can’t change

It is completely legal for power providers to mark up pass through charges for their own benefit. That being said I would like to know their answer.

We agree it's unfortunate that we have to pass through the Merchant Services Fee. It's the charge our credit card processor assesses to us for every transaction.

We thought about not passing it through and just increasing the monthly membership, but ultimately decided that would unfairly punish our lower-usage members to the benefit of our higher-usage members.

For the credit card fees, this is fair given the situation - but still too high - I just want to see other options. Does an EFT from my bank cost this much? Debit card? Are there other payment options that could be cheaper for all involved?

I agree, however, I was surprised that I could use my Amex which I do but I can only assume the price outways the card points I accrue.

Bank drafts can take 3-5 business days to process while in the interim a members balance can go negative. This option is more suited for plans that offer a single bill at the end of the month.
