Next weeks’s projected forecast, 12/21, 12/22,12/23: Saturday: Wind generation peaks in the morning and is expected to dip below 2,000 MW during the afternoon. Saturday is the official start of Winter, and we'll begin to see system demand decrease going forward.
Forecasted peak demand of 42,000 MW between 9-10 AM with available generation around 47,000 MW. Average on-peak price of 2¢ system-wide. Sunday: Wind generation is forecast to start the day poorly with generation around 2,000 MW, but will strengthen later in the evening.
Sunday is essentially a mirror image to Saturday in regards to expected demand and wind generation. Forecasted peak demand of 47,000 MW between 9-10 AM with available generation around 51,000 MW. Average on-peak price of 1.8¢ system-wide.
Monday: Wind generation is forecasted to perform exceptionally well going into the evening with projected generation upwards of 15,000 MW. Overall demand starts to wane, and generation capacity is looking to be robust which should secure low pricing.
Monday is tracking to be a low day with an on-peak average of 1.7 ¢ in all zones with the exception of LZ West at 2¢. Demand is forecasted to peak at 47,000 between 7-8 AM.
