@GoGriddy what's the rationale behind this? I'm tired of being hot b/c my a/c is off and stilll paying over $160 in September.
When demand gets within 7,000 MW of available capacity, ERCOT starts ramping up the price with "adders". Available capacity is low right now because a lot of generators schedule their maintenance for late September/early October when the weather is supposed to be mild.

I don’t buy this explanation. The “graphs” look almost the same today as when the prices were spiking and yet we don’t have price spikes right now, reserves are currently around 3900MW.
