let me clarify...the flat monthly charges cause the all-in rate to go down very slightly as your usage goes up...this is basic math
Conversely, if the energy-only rate was 1 cent, you wouldn't expect the all-in rate to be 2-3x that either since you're paying the same ~5-6 cents in other charges It's more accurate to say the all-in rate is energy-only plus 5-6 cents than to say it's 2-3x.

right, and I’m basing it on recent averages (my mistake), so it may be a lot worse than 2-3x, I should say something different... however, the point is that people need to understand the all-in rate is much higher and when looking at fixed rates it doesn’t change the same way

...there’s a lot of ways it could be looked at I suppose, people care about the bottom line though, I’ve stated before that comparing it to the going fixed (energy) rate is a good way to do it too, currently ~.03 in my area...

You're right, the all-in rate is what's important. We're in total agreement there. Just wanted to be clear about the calculations for getting there.
