I started using @GoGriddy because I thought that money could be saved with load shifting and I like that they are "trying" to do something cool on a technical level. However, it's starting to look like you really can't save much (if any) even with load shifting.
We had have members who were able to keep their rates low during the high peak times that occurred in August. And we are sorry that for you that wasn't the case. But we still believe in what we are doing and can still compete with a fixed price plan over the course of a year.

I shut things down completely when rates spike (>.07) and my all-in rate is still coming out higher than available fixed-rate plans. You may have people beating a variable rate but I question whether anyone is beating a shopped (i.e. a plan on http://powertochoose.org ) fixed rate

I haven't switched back to a fixed rate plan yet but it isn't looking great, even when load shifting. All-in rate for Aug. was 12.4, so far for Sept. 8.7, your service needs to beat fixed rates by a decent amount to make it worth the inconvenience of having to shut things down.
