We need reliable notification and automation! Notification being the priority. I had to stop using IFTTT hooked into my thermostat because it’s just flat out broken (turning my AC off at night time from a delayed price spike).

We put one fix out on Monday to address some of the delays. There will be another fix later this week to deal with when we get adders from ERCOT at a later time than the 5 minute interval.

Are you going to fix the Ancillary Services so they are actually charged in 15 min increments and not on your average daily usage?

That’s where I’m at on all this. I want to know exactly how charges are calculated (and charges assessed). I think meters might be read every 15m and then they can obviously see total usage from point A to point B (i.e. one day) ... so...

Do they have a settlement price every 15m that they use to charge based on a snapshot of what is being used? Do they take total usage times a certain rate? How is that certain rate calculated if the above is even how it’s done?

You are right, we charge your 15-minute usage at the 15-minute energy rate.

Wait, so how does that work? If electricity is $3 for 5 min and we use 1 kwh, then 2c for the next 10 minutes and we use 10 kwh per EA 5 min (not real numbers)... Do we get charged for 21 kwh at that 15min average? Roughly $1.01/kwh?
