      @GoGriddy Are the ancillary charges just the adders broken out? Are ancillary charges usually lower?

      I think the Ancillary Services Charge is not simply the total amount of the Adders, but is a separate “on call” fee that reflects what ERCOT pays generators, not for making electricity, but for standing by “on call” ready to start making electricity quickly if it‘s needed.

      It must be the adders. Here is a snippet of my spreadsheet. Griddy gets the same spreadsheet that I do. I think the RTSPP is the "energy cost" and the Adder is the Ancillary costs. I have a base adder because I had to get a company to write me the contract.pic.twitter.com/gWCraPU3Qz

      I think it's fine. I don't know why they break it out though. It will be easy to tell if they have a base adder or not during the winter months.

      I think Ancillary Services is similar to Adder (in that it is calculated similarly), but I think it’s a separate charge. I think Adder is paid for juice actually consumed. Ancillary Services is for $ paid to generators to be on standby with facilities ready to produce if needed.

      Ancillary charges are the costs ERCOT pays to various generators to provide services that keep the grid operating safely and efficiently, then ultimately passes through to all market participants.

      Do you have any idea how Ancillary Charges are calculated? They seem to vary quite a bit from time to time. Do you know why they seem to vary?
