Took @SportsTalk790 recommendation and tried @GoGriddy energy. They subtly increased our kWh rate by 4x in our second month. Our bill went from 120/mo to over $400. This company is a scam and I will make sure everyone knows it. @MC790 stop advertising them
We don't set the wholesale prices, ERCOT does. The price that ERCOT sets is based on the supply and demand of the grid. Unfortunately, this month the grid has been hitting record high demand causing prices to be higher than usual.

We did send messages to our members letting them know about the high demand expected this summer and how it could lead to more severe price spikes. We also offer various tools - real-time prices, price alerts & automation - to help our members.
