We are working on possibly being able to introduce that in the future. This month has been an anomaly. Before this week, in the whole history of the US wholesale electricity market, the price had hit $9/kWh for a grand total of 10 minutes.

That doesn’t help your customers who had no idea this “anomoly” could happen. You screwed your customers and now you are losing them like crazy. I transferred my service on Wednesday yet Griddy charged my account again ! I need that remaining money in my acct credited ASAP !

The concept is nice and I get it, with 101+ f every day from a week in HOU. But I am (now was) well on my way to a $1100 bill for AUG. I have NEVER had a bill over $350. That is ridiculous. Curious, can you share your bottom line costs for AUG for full transparency.

You keep saying this month has been an anomaly. That is based on past history. This was a very mild Texas summer. Population isn’t going down. High temps will likely start earlier next year. Convince me these prices won’t start in June next year. I can’t sustain $100+ per day.

To win consistently change how you use electric. Add automation, at minimum set thermostats to pre-cool during high risk days. I tell mine to hit 70F before noon and turn off. House slowly reaches 78-80F by 8PM then I set 73F until morning. Electric peaks 1-6PM, you miss spikes.

you should waive the credit card fee, $23.25 in credit card fees on my $766 electricity bill and the month is only half over

Yes, but $9000 has only been the cap since 2015. The cap is an administrative construct and how many times and for how long it had priced at the SWOC in the history of the market might have been a little more transparent way to prepare people for this.

@GoGriddy don’t mislead people with your convenient choice of statistics? Be honest and tell people that hot temps are possible and in that case the spot market would bankrupt them. Adjust for price cap changes and tell people about 2011 type of weather and prices then!pic.twitter.com/Tzxc9xMNdb
