Thanks for the insightful comments. You are absolutely correct that there was disconnect between the price displayed on the app (the 5-minute "locational marginal price") and the price that is actually charged to our members (the 15-minute "settlement point price").

Normally those prices come out to be the same, but yesterday as you pointed out, the adders that ERCOT charges during times of high demand were large. Unfortunately, we currently have no way of bringing in that adder data from ERCOT to display on our app.

@Greg_Craig_US And it just gets worse. Now your Griddy App shows a price of 7.5¢ when the actual price (with Adders) is 52¢. You know your App displays inaccurate price info, yet you still leave it out there, without giving all customers a transparent explanation.#deceptivepic.twitter.com/imhqxPBbxV

Now here’s you Griddy App still showing 7.5¢ per kWh, when the actual price (with Adders) that will be used to calculate the price you charge to Griddy customers is 64.4¢ per kWh! And your system just sent a push notification wrongly telling customers the price spike was over.pic.twitter.com/DKMTgHEjgh

This is getting ridiculous. Griddy App displays price of 25¢ per kWh. But the actual price (with Adders) is a whopping $1.19 per kWh. It’s not unusual for a medium-sized house with A/C on in hot weather to use 6 kWh in just one hour, or $25 for just 4 mid-day hours.

I was gonna stop, but this last one is particularly egregious. The Griddy App displays a price of 7.5¢ per kWh. But the actual price (with Adders) that will be used to calculate the price Griddy charges its customer is $1.05, which is 14 times the price Griddy reports.

I have noticed this as well and I have been a member for 3 days. It ain't that hard to pull in RTSPP. I did it with 3 lines of code for my Honeywell thermostats since their IFTTT applet is worthless without RTPA. Griddy shows 8.3cents right now when real price is 94.3cents!

Yup! We are working on it and should have it released this week or next. While the lines of code might be quick, we do our due diligence to test and test and test some more to make sure the release is

What’s Griddy going to do about members who were misled by relying on Griddy App’s inaccurate price signals to regulate their consumption? Griddy marketed itself and its App as giving members real time insight into prices that they could then use to economize their consumption.

I knew the prices seemed way off from the app but I have been out of the country and thought I was not watching it closely enough. This is ridiculous

We are putting those adders into the dial price this week or next! Stay tuned! And it looks like prices normalized yesterday and appear to be low today!
