Hi buddy. You must be a new user. As someone who has been with .@GoGriddy for over a year now, I can definitely tell you that YES IT DOES EVEN OUT. Hey, I'll even show you proof because I don't bullshit! That's 2018 and 2019. YOU CAN'T TOUCH .@GoGriddy's PRICING! #facts #sonpic.twitter.com/RvvIvbLIdY

Also, .@AstonishingFMan, if you haven't figured it out, the pricing you see is an estimate based on a forecast created not by Griddy, but by ERCOT. The rate you are charged is the straight-up pass-through rate governed by ERCOT. You are shooting the messenger boss! 😂🤣#winning

The messenger—The Griddy App—is giving false messages when the “Current Price” on Griddy App fails to include “Price Adders,” but instead reports only the LMP price. For 2 hours today, Griddy App was displaying prices not over 10¢, when actual settlement prices were > 50¢.pic.twitter.com/jV7GjxuNUx

And yet even with that discrepancy, I provided you proof that it MORE than averages out. So like @Wendy's used to be fond of saying, "WHERE'S THE BEEF?" Are you so shortsighted you focus on the here and there that really doesn't matter long term? 😉

The beef: Griddy should be accurate about info they provide. The "Current Price" Griddy reports as Wholesale Price should not be based only on LMP, but should also include Price Adders which are part of wholesale price charged. (Also important for optimizing IFTTT integration.)

For example, at this very moment, Griddy App is displaying price of 7.5 ¢, but the actual price with Adders is over 11.9¢. And the price charged to Griddy customers will be based on the 11.9¢ price. Sometime the price with Adders can be 10X what Griddy reports as “Current Price.”pic.twitter.com/Tux2SN9xXW

And here’s Griddy App reporting “Current Price” for wholesale as 4.4¢ when the actual LMP price is 7.5¢ and the price with Adders is 24.5¢. It’s possible I’m mistaken about how this is being reported, so I await Griddy correcting my confusion. But so far, Griddy has been silent.pic.twitter.com/RZzGp5HAQa

Again, you are focusing on minutia instead of the bigger picture. I proved what kind of longterm pricing @GoGriddy provides its users. I honestly don't care about discrepancies in short term pricing when YOU have no way of knowing if they are in sync or not. MACRO > MICRO

Good for you. I’m glad you’re happy. But for me, a company should provide accurate info when it represents that its app displays “real time pricing.” Some people, like me, have been relying on that info to be accurate, as advertised.

Thanks for the insightful comments. You are absolutely correct that there was disconnect between the price displayed on the app (the 5-minute "locational marginal price") and the price that is actually charged to our members (the 15-minute "settlement point price").

Normally those prices come out to be the same, but yesterday as you pointed out, the adders that ERCOT charges during times of high demand were large. Unfortunately, we currently have no way of bringing in that adder data from ERCOT to display on our app.

This is not a rare event, but happens with regularity. For example, right now your Griddy App shows 7.5¢ per kWh when the actual price (with Adders) that will be used to calculate charges is 12.7¢. This is not “transparency” Griddy brags about. You “shamed” TXU for a lot less!pic.twitter.com/gc86trA0Zt

Now your motives become clear. You have an agenda. Is the price tracking app 100% accurate? No, evidently it is not. You got a proper explanation as to what is going on yet you continue to harp over something that in the grand scheme of things is insignificant.

@Greg_Craig_US And it just gets worse. Now your Griddy App shows a price of 7.5¢ when the actual price (with Adders) is 52¢. You know your App displays inaccurate price info, yet you still leave it out there, without giving all customers a transparent explanation. #deceptivepic.twitter.com/imhqxPBbxV

Now here’s you Griddy App still showing 7.5¢ per kWh, when the actual price (with Adders) that will be used to calculate the price you charge to Griddy customers is 64.4¢ per kWh! And your system just sent a push notification wrongly telling customers the price spike was over.pic.twitter.com/DKMTgHEjgh

Just use the Indicative LMP. The Real Time Adder is included.
