Well, they're gonna get one heck of shock when they see what they paid today between 1 and 5 p.m. (This was a serious backbreaker, so don't give me your mantra about how it all evens out. And the Griddy App was mis-reporting prices as being 10 times lower than they really were!)

Normally those prices come out to be the same, but yesterday as you pointed out, the adders that ERCOT charges during times of high demand were large. Unfortunately, we currently have no way of bringing in that adder data from ERCOT to display on our app.

This is not a rare event, but happens with regularity. For example, right now your Griddy App shows 7.5¢ per kWh when the actual price (with Adders) that will be used to calculate charges is 12.7¢. This is not “transparency” Griddy brags about. You “shamed” TXU for a lot less!pic.twitter.com/gc86trA0Zt

The only data we are able to display is that locational marginal price. We are working with ERCOT as well as 3rd party vendors to try to find a way to get that data in real time so our members can see it in the app and have as much information as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve been in touch with your customer support via email and am hoping to hear back from them before too long.
