The left stick click is L, the right stick click changes the left stick between joystick and dpad. So it can use the full N64 controller buttons.

This is a masterpiece of engineering. I'd love to see a controller range test on that joystick. Wondering how shooters will fair.
The joystick range is calibrated in the mcu. On the n64sp, I used a range test program for calibrating it to +-80 on each axis. The original controller is around +-78 iirc.
