5/7/70: Called the Willis Game, but really the Clyde Game. Frazier has 36 and 19 asst as Knicks win first title. Clyde’s first words entering the locker room: “Man, I need a beer.” Media already in locker room. Different times.

I was there that night too, sitting in the blue seats--section 406. But it was May 8th Bob, not May 7th!

Ah the good old days. When offense was more than a circus 3 point shooting contest and lunch consisted of a corned beef sandwich and cocktails of choice and back to work.

Bob, A great moment and you are right everybody forgets how great Clyde Frazier was in that game. To me that Knick team was as close to perfection as a team could get . Great passing. They always hit the open man. Different times but a lost art. Thanks for the memory

ABC broadcast team: Chris Schenkel & Jack Twyman with Howard Cosell working the sidelines. Twyman said Willis received 200 cc of cortisone in his right thigh before the game (NYT later said it was 250 mg of Carbocaine) Knicks led 69-42 at the half 113-99 final
