since this will come up a lot in media coverage of Tyre Nichols in Memphis: while I get that it seems narratively significant that the officers are black. Statistically, it is unsurprising. In tracking police violence, we never found that race of the officer made much difference

I started with GDP grew at a 2.9% annual rate in Q4. But that is the government's first estimate. As it gets more data it will revise that many times in the coming years. Based on historical revisions this is a probability distribution for the last estimate.

Strong headline GDP: 2.9% (ar) in Q4. Led by consumption (+2.1%) but also more volatile factors like inventory investment, net exports and government spending. Residential investment continued its plunge.
Overall GDP basically at CBO's pre-pandemic forecast.
