Conditions are improving out there as temperatures are set to go above freezing all across Texas today. But roads are still wet with possible icy spots out there. So please slow down, increase following distance and check drivetexas.org for latest conditions.

We're not out of the woods yet. Freezing and icy conditions will continue this evening and overnight for much of the state. Please stay off the roads if you can but if you must drive use caution, remain vigilant and check drivetexas.org for latest conditions.

With icy conditions across Texas, tree limbs are falling causing power outages for many traffic signals. If you come across a darkened signal, treat it as a 4-way stop for your safety and the safety of others. But if you don't need to drive, please stay off the roads.

9:13 AM: A band of moderate sleet storms are moving over the same areas, including the Metroplex. Expect road conditions to continue to worsen. It is advised to NOT be on the roads today. If possible, please stay home. It’s messy out there. 🥶🙃 #dfwwx

We are already receiving reports of ice beginning to accumulate on elevated surfaces in the Hill Country and Austin Metro. We could begin to see issues on overpasses/bridges soon. Tomorrow will be worse, please consider planning to stay home!

Double rainbow this am in Fredricksburg is a very beautiful sight. A perfect example of why I love the outdoors and a reminder to count our blessings every day, as each is very unique.
