A mysterious claim by Trump with no apparent basis in fact. You would think this might have been offered as an impeachment defense? There would be a paper trail? He wouldn't have been giddy over what was happening? Remember: he just makes stuff up.https://www.foxnews.com/politics/trump-says-he-requested-10k-national-guard-troops-at-capitol-on-day-of-riot …

addendum: VF reported on Jan. 22: the president, Miller recalled, asked how many troops the Pentagon planned to turn out the following day. “We’re like, ‘We’re going to provide any National Guard support that the District requests,’” Miller responded. ....

“And [Trump] goes, ‘You’re going to need 10,000 people.’ No, I’m not talking bullshit. He said that. And we’re like, ‘Maybe. But you know, someone’s going to have to ask for it.’”https://www.vanityfair.com/news/2021/01/embedding-with-pentagon-leadership-in-trumps-chaotic-last-week …

So it may have come up in conversation. But Trump did not actually request it, just offered a speculative number. And Pelosi did not deny it, contrary to what Trump claims.

Trump suggesting that 10,000 national guard troops would be needed to control the crowd appears to be further evidence he was expecting something "wild" to happen on Jan. 6 after his speech.

It can be evidence that he was planning to tell the mob to illegally march on and attack the Capitol and that he expected them to do it.

Yes - so remember that he offered more protection for the Capitol and it was refused. There is no evidence that he incited anything, but it just makes sense to have more security when there are huge crowds

Also, the double thickness bullet proof screen, protecting #45th at #WH field rally, was a 'heads up' he was fully expecting a riled up crowd, that would be "packing"!! And It's not mentioned? Coupled with #NotInTheBunker, as the 2nd give-away!

Its also further evidence that he k ew naturally, having 100k people in one place, not everyone would stay peacful according to his wishes. So he wanted the national guard there to help convince them to stay peaceful
