Jumping in to clarify that this update has no impact on custom thumbnails. Channels don't need to be part of YPP to use that feature, they just need to have a verified YouTube account, which can be done at http://youtube.com/verify .

The whole thing is still frustrating. Slightly less frustrating, but still very stupid. You work hard to make your art and you can't even showcase it in the thumbnail if you want to be monetized. It's so upsetting to me.
