The amount of Ukrainian territory occupied by Russia, equivalent to other European countries. This is what appeasers would gift to Putin, along with all the human beings who live there.

To those States that abstained or even voted against UNGA resolutions condemning Russia’s aggression against Ukraine:Russia’s blockade in the Black Sea is the sole cause of worldwide shortage of food commodities (wheat, fodder, sunflower oil, ) to be exported from Ukraine ports

“You were given the choice between war and dishonour. You chose dishonour, and you will have war.' (W. Churchill to Chamberlain) must ring a bell to those European leaders making subtle distinctions between offensive and defensive weapons to be supplied to aggressed Ukraine.

Why China Giving Military Assistance to Russia Would Violate International Law
1
Some one-sided pacifists dared to reproach Ukraine with the moral and religious right to resist by referring to the Gospel:"turn the other cheek". They’ve done already: Donbass and Crimea. Now it’s time of self-defence against this criminal aggression, even under the Gospel.
ICJ (today):"The Russian Federation shall immediately suspend the military operations that it commenced on 24 February 2022 in the territory of Ukraine" (Dispositif 1). Bravo!! 1st international judicial decision of a long series requesting Russia to comply with International Law

Ironic twist of History as Lviv, where Lemkin (crime of genocide) and Hersch Lauterpacht (crime against humanity) lived and were raised (Sands, East West Street), is today the stronghold of resistance of Ukraine.

Starvation/Siege: Article 54 (1) First Protocol to the 1949 Geneva Conventions "Starvation of civilians as a method of warfare is prohibited"; Rule 53 (Customary International Law): "The use of starvation of the civilian population as a method of warfare is prohibited". Beware!!

I love Vattel and the right to resist to tyrants (Putin?): "those monsters who, under the title of sovereigns, render themselves the scourges and horror of the human race, they are savage beasts whom every brave man may justly exterminate from the face of the earth" (II.IV.56).

Mr Lavrov, none of the "griefs", even if substantiated, you raised against Ukraine before the UN Conference on Disarmament justify the use of force against an independent State. Refresh your knowledge of International Law:ICJ Nicaragua 1986, paras. 257-269. Meanwhile stop the War

The Russian President is considering stopping all bombings against civilians and their areas of residence (NYT). Rejoice: Putin has just discovered article 51 of First Protocol to the 1949 Geneva Conventions. It is never too late, though I am not sure he will abide by it.

"if the Security Council, because of lack of unanimity of the permanent members, fails to exercise its primary responsibility for the maintenance of international peace and security…". Does it sound familiar? Wake up UN General Assembly and make recourse to res. 377 (V)!

International Law for dummies: Belarus is not a neutral country. It is as an aggressor State as Russia, under Article 3 (f) UNGA Resolution 3314 on aggression: "The action of a State in allowing its territory .. to be used by that other State for perpetrating an act of aggression

Brief reminder to hesitant third States: under Article 51 UNC, they may lawfully assist (even military) the aggressed State (Ukraine) in the exercise of its inherent right of (collective) self-defence, ICJ Nicaragua case, 1986. Including, of course, exclusion of Russia from Swift
